Studio Shoot

Our brief is to make an interpretation of a pre-existing script. The script itself is cringeworthy, if I'm honest. So in order to make it a little more interesting, I am thinking of adding an edgier plot to it.

The original script is clearly some kind of love story, so why not turn it into a twisted love story?

Possible ideas:
Kidnap/Stalker.
Adult - Child relationship.
Father - daughter relationship.
Someone who is sexually attracted to oneself.

At the moment, I am leaning towards the kidnap/stalker element. I think I would enjoy creating a threatening atmosphere for the film, and try and push the limits of expectation.

Stylistic Ideas:
Dimly lit/spot lighting.
Low, Lynch-style, acoustmatic grumbles and rumbles.
A slow build in pace and tension, with a strong climax at the end.
Close ups of the actors' reactions - try to convery fear/desire through their facial expressions.

So having chosen the stalker idea, I have modified the original script very basically.

I will type up a proper script soon enough, but at the moment my main aim is to get a clearer idea for the tone of the film rather than the plot itself. I think that the plot can only be limited because of the strict time constraints that we have within the studio shoot.
